We are delighted to be supporting young people to find employmenmt as part of the Personal Mentor Network
About the Project
The Personal Mentor Network is a unique service running in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, Torbay and Liskeard in Cornwall. Managed by Petroc, on behalf of the City Deal, the service is being delivered by participating organisations throughout the area. Personal Mentors provide tailored advice and guidance designed to support young people who are finding it particularly hard to secure regular employment. The service has been created to fill the gaps in support identified by young people and their Work Coaches from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
Project Aim
The aim of the project is to provide individually tailored packages of support with a Personal Mentor for young people who are looking for sustained employment. The individual support packages will be up to 4 hours a week for up to 12 weeks for the young person to find their way in to employment, with a further 6 months’ in work support available if they gain employment.

Project Partners
Petroc is managing a partnership consisting of the following organisations across the South West peninsula to deliver the project:
- I Can Do That!
- Pluss
- Routeways
- Tomorrow’s People Trust
- Young Devon
